Prąd oceaniczny
Prąd oceaniczny to ciągły, ukierunkowany ruch wody morskiej. Prądy występują zarówno na powierzchni oceanu, jak i w głębi, lokalnie i globalnie.
Prądy oceaniczne są generowane przez siły oddziałujące na wodę, takie jak obrót Ziemi, wiatr, różnice temperatur i zasolenia oraz przyciąganie Księżyca.
Prądy stanowią istotny czynnik determinujący klimat kontynentów (zwłaszcza regionów przybrzeżnych) i wpływający na ekosystemy.
