En relativt lavvandet flod, bestående af et netværk af flodkanaler adskilt af små og ofte imidlertidige øer (fletnings-barer). En meandrerende (flettet) flod dannes typiskt for enden af en gletscher med lav hældning og stor sedimentbelastning.
