Predatore alfa

Il predatore alfa (oppure dominante, maggiore) è una specie di animale sulla cima della loro catena alimentare, senza predatori naturali nel suo ecosistema. Un individuo sano e adulto di quella specie non  è  cacciatio da nessun altro animale. Gli esseri umani sono solo una minaccia diretta per loro.

Orsi polari, coccodrilli e leoni africani sono dei predatori alfa.
