Pragjet jane nderhyrje paralele me shtresimin e kolones gjeologjike. Kjo i ben ata shume me te veshtire per t’u njohur. Pragjet shfaqen per shkak te presionit, stresit dhe deformimit ne nje zone te afert. Ne menyre qe te njihet nje prag, duhet te behet shpesh hetimi me i detajuar.
Per te dy dikes e prag ajo vlen eshte qe ata shpesh krijojne nyje kolone, per shkak te procesit te ftohjes.
