Growler
A growler is a piece of ice that breaks off from icebergs, glaciers (this process is called “calving”), and shelf ice.
It is floating in open water, and might be an obstacle for small boats.
According to NOAA Ocean Service, a growler is a piece of ice less than 1 metres high above sea level, and less than 5 meters long.
