Μη ανανεώσιμη πηγή ενέργειας
Οι μη ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας δε δημιουργούνται και δεν αναπληρώνονται σε σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα, ενώ συχνά δεν αντικαθίστανται άμεσα με ταχύ ρυθμό έτσι ώστε να συμβαδίζουν με την κατανάλωση. Μη ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας είναι π.χ. το αργό πετρέλαιο, το φυσικό αέριο, ο άνθρακας και το ουράνιο. Οι μη ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας μπορούν να εξαντληθούν ή ακόμη και να εξαφανιστούν.
