Plastikstykker findes i alle størrelser og form, men kun dem, der er mindre end fem millimeter lange (ca. størrelsen af et sesamfrø) kaldes mikroplastisk.
Mikroplastik kan komme fra en række kilder og er yderst skadelig for vores oceaner og dets vandlevende liv.
