Greenhouse effect

The phenomenon caused by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These substances prevent the release of infrared radiation from the Earth, because they absorb it and return it into the atmosphere. As a result of this process, the temperature of our planet’s surface increases.

The greenhouse effect is one of the main causes of global warming.
