Ałas to depresja termokrasowa, czyli wklęsła forma terenu. Powstaje wskutek rozmarzania grubej warstwy wieloletniej zmarzliny, bogatej w lód. Zazwyczaj jest stosunkowo płytka (5-20 m) i rozległa (0,5-100 km2).
Ałasy występują głównie na terenie Jakucji.
