Stacja Summit działa od 1988 roku. Znajduje się na szczycie lodowego masywu Grenlandii.
To jedyna stacja obserwacyjna w Arktyce położona tak daleko na północy i tak wysoko n.p.m.
Zapewnia unikalny wgląd w arktyczne i globalne procesy klimatyczne oraz jest miejscem badania roli pokrywy lodowej Grenlandii w globalnym systemie klimatycznym.
