Factori de mediu abiotici includ toți factorii neînsuflețiți și procesele dintr-un ecosistem. Lumina solară, solul (cu parametrii săi, cum ar fi aciditatea solului), apa, vântul, umiditatea sunt exemple de factori abiotici, care interacționează între ei și afectează organismele vii – inclusiv animalele și plantele.
