Палтус — донная рыба из семейства камбаловых. Атлантический белокорый палтус обитает в северной части Атлантического океана, а тихоокеанский белокорый палтус — в северной части Тихого океана.
Атлантический белокорый палтус — это одна из крупнейших в мире костных рыб, максимальный зарегистрированный размер которых составил 4,7 метра. Это одна из самых популярных рыб на Исландии.
