Polarnat
En natperiode, der varer i minimum 24 timer, kaldes polarnat. Dette betyder at solen står under horisonten i minimum 24 timer. Polarnat kan opleves ved breddegrader over den Arktiske Cirkel (66,5629° eller 66°33’46.6’’ N) og under den Antarktiske Cirkel (66,5629°S eller 66°33’46.6’’S).
På grund af tusmørke fænomenet, skelnes der mellem forskellige slags polarnat, alt afhængig af typen af tusmørke.
