Cella di Ferrel

La cella di Ferrel è il moto medio di aria nelle medie latitudini. Viene a latitudini più elevate (tra 30 gradi e 60 gradi N e 30 gradi e 60 gradi S).

Nella cellula di Ferrel, l’aria scorre verso i poli e verso est vicino alla superficie e equatoriale e verso l’eguatore e verso ovest alle altezze più elevate; questo movimento è l’opposto del flusso d’aria nella cella di Hadley. La cella di Ferrel svolge un ruolo importante nel trasporto dell’energia polare (principalmente di calore).
