Growler

Un growler es un trozo de hielo que se desprende de los icebergs, los glaciares (este proceso se denomina “parto o ruptura”) y el hielo de la plataforma.

Está flotando en aguas abiertas, y podría ser un obstáculo para los barcos pequeños.

Según el Servicio Oceánico de la NOAA, un growler es un trozo de hielo de menos de 1 metro de altura sobre el nivel del mar y menos de 5 metros de largo.
