Криотурбация является очень важным процессом, происходящим в сезонно-талом слое многолетней мерзлоты, в котором разные материалы из горизонтальных слоев почвы перемешиваются под воздействием постоянного промерзания и оттаивания.
Многоцветный материал формирует характеристическую, узорчатую подложку.
