Bioma

Un bioma è un’unità biologica che occupa una gran parte della superficie della Terra e caratterizzata da caratteristiche omogenee. È una grande area con un clima simile, con la sua vegetazione caratteristica e il mondo degli animali. La biomassa tipica include la taiga, la tundra, la savana, i deserti, le steppe, le foreste tropicali, le foreste di conifere, le foreste decidue e oggi anche i ghiacciai. I biomi individuali sono separati da zone di transizione di diverse larghezze.
