Hindcast

Hindcast è un processo di test dei modelli numerici (ad esempio modelli di cambiamento climatico), confrontandoli con le osservazioni storiche effettive per determinare in che misura i modelli abbinano il record storico. Un modello che non corrisponde alla realtà, non produrrà proiezioni realistiche, quindi richiede l’alterazione dei parametri per meglio adattarsi alle osservazioni. Se il modello corrisponde ai record di temperatura osservati, significa che corrisponde alle osservazioni e quindi è più affidabile.
