Parelio (cani solari)

I cani solari (noti anche come parelio) sono luminose aree colorate accanto al Sole.

Di solito appaiono intorno a 22 gradi verso sinistra e destra dal Sole e alla stessa altitudine sopra l’orizzonte come il Sole.

Quello che vediamo è un riflesso della luce solare dai cristalli di ghiaccio nelle nuvole.

I cani solari sono più comuni quando il freddo porta i cristalli di ghiaccio nell’atmosfera, tuttavia, possono apparire ovunque nel mondo ogni volta che ci sono i cirri.
