Karst spring

A spring emerging from karstified limestone or glacier.

Point at which an underground stream reaches the surface if stream has no known surface headwaters.

Types of karst spring:

EXSURGENCE – point at which an underground stream reaches the surface if stream has no known surface headwaters.

RESURGENCE – point at which an underground stream reaches the surface and becomes a surface stream.
In European litereature, the term is reserved for the reemergence of a stream that has earlier sunk upstream.

1- bedrock , 2- glacial or fluvioglacial sediments, 3-glacier, 4- waterfall, 5- glacial stream
