Podczas zmierzchu cywilnego można rozróżnić horyzont, obiekty znajdujące się na powierzchni Ziemi oraz najjaśniejsze gwiazdy – nie ma potrzeby stosowania sztucznego oświetlenia do prowadzenia aktywności na zewnątrz.
