Floating method

An indirect method for measuring a river discharge (a stretch method). A simple method that does not require the use of complicated measuring equipment. The measurement is made by measuring the time that it takes a floating object to travel a specified distance downstream. The method is only used  for a rough estimation of the discharge due to the high level of inaccuracy of the  results.
