El karst Glaciar

Glacial karst (Cryokarst) – un conjunto de fenómenos y procesos que se desarrollan en la superficie y dentro de un glaciar como resultado del derretimiento del hielo y la acción del agua que fluye, similar a los fenómenos kársticos que se desarrollan en las rocas carbonatadas.

Las formaciones geológicas que se originan en estos dos ambientes muestran una asombrosa similitud. Los procesos kársticos glaciares dan lugar a sistemas de drenaje de un glaciar que se derrite.

El sistema de drenaje interno se compone de:

  • molinos de moulins/glaciares,
  • pozos,
  • cascadas
  • emisoras
  • pasillos
  • compartimentos
  • fuentes kársticas
