Biodilution er faldet i koncentrationen af et stof (især forurenende stoffer som tungmetaller) med en stigning i trofisk niveau i fødekæden. Dette fænomen ses mest i eutrofile (næringsrige og højproduktive) vandmiljøer. For eksempel reducerer algernes stigning i koncentrationen af forurenende stoffer en konsekvens af deres større biomasse.
