EGRIP Field Station

EGRIP FIELD Station Research er en 4 meter høj bygning, “Dome”, der vejer 47 tons, flyttet i 2015 på ski næsten 500 km på tværs af det grønlandske is (i tidligere placering var det NEEM station).

Det er en international boring lejr og en gateway til forskningsprogrammer i East Grønland, der tager sigte på at opnå ny og fundamental information om isstrømdynamik og forbedre forståelsen af, hvordan isstrømme vil bidrage til fremtidige ændringer i havoverfladen. Borekernen vil også give en ny data om tidligere klimatiske forhold fra den nordøstlige del af det grønlandske isark, som vil blive analyseret på talrige laboratorier verden over.
