Yedoma
Yedoma – kulstofrig is kompleks – er dateret-Pleistocene permafrost (dannet under sidste istid) der indeholder en betydelig mængde af organisk materiale med is indhold på 50 til 90 volumenprocent.
Yedoma dækker omkring en million kvadratkilometer langs den 7000 km lange kystlinje i den Østsibiriske arktiske sokkel.
Thawing yedoma er en betydelig kilde til atmosfærisk metan og bidrager til tilbagetrækning af Alaskas og Østsibiriens kystlinje.
