Geomagnetic storm
The phenomenon associated with sudden and dynamic changes in the Earth’s magnetic field. It is caused by intensive plasma eruptions from the Sun’s surface into space. As a result of a geomagnetic storm, there are rapid changes in solar wind parameters.
The geomagnetic storm is one of the elements that shape the so-called space weather, which affects some of the technologies used on Earth.
On website www.n3kl.org of The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — an American organization that monitors the extreme weather phenomenon — are available current parameters of the Earth’s magnetic field.
