En næringskjede er en stor forenkling, for hver og en av dem henger sammen med andre næringskjeder i det vi kaller et næringsnett. Næringsnettet kartlegger hvem som spiser hvem i et helt økologisk samfunn, på tvers og langs av mange næringskjeder.
