Nilas – ose “akulli i ri” është një nga fazat fillestare të formimit të akullit të detit, kryesisht në ujërat e qetë.
Është një fletë akulli e vazhdueshme, e hollë (më pak se 10 centimetra), kore elastike me sipërfaqe të zbehtë dhe të errët, duke u bërë më e lehtë kur bëhet e trashë.
Nilas zhvillohet nga rritja vijuese e rënies së borës ose ujrave.
Faqet e holla të akullit rrëshqitjasin mbi njëri-tjetrin dhe formojnë barkat me akull më të trashë.
