Rökkur er tímabilið á milli sólseturs og nætur og líka á milli nætur og sólarupprásar þegar sólin er fyrir neðan sjóndeildarhringinn en andrúmsloftið er upplýst af sólinni. Þetta birtustig er vegna áhrifa sem sólarljósið hefur á efra himinhvolfið.
