Fytoplankton
Fytoplankton er mikroskopiske organismer som lever i vann, både i saltvann og ferskvann. De fleste er encellede.Som planter på jorda har fytoplankton klorofyll for å fange sollys, og de bruker fotosyntese for å gjøre det om til kjemisk energi. All fytoplankton kan ha fotosyntese, men noen får ekstra energi ved å også spise andre organismer.
