Polar tregrense
Den polare tregrensa er den nordligste grensen for treaktig vekster. Den går mellom boreal skog og tundra. Utenfor denne grensa er klimaet for hardt for trær. Den går rundt hele jordens nordlige landmasser, og er mer enn 13 000 kilometer lang. Det er en økologisk overgangssone og derfor vanskelig å skille ut enkelte steder. Hvordan den polare tregrensa flytter seg er indikatorer for klimaendringer.
