Caiac
Caiac (qajaq in inuită) este o barcă lungă în miniatură. A fost inventată acum 4400 de ani de vechii eschimoși din Groenlanda, ca echipament de vânătoare. Caiacul este simbolul necontestat al Groenlandei.
Caiacul a fost făcut din puținele materiale disponibile – lemn adus de ape, piele, oase și tendoane. Caiacele sunt cel mai adesea asociate cu vânătoarea de foci și vânătoarea de balene.
Caiacul a avut, de asemenea, o importanță deosebită în viața socială- abilitățile utilizării sale au marcat etape ale vieții de o mare importanță, determinând rolul în cadrul comunității.
