Biolimi
Biolim është një hap përgatitor për rikuperimin e metaleve të çmuara, bazuar në katalizmin e oksidimit të mineraleve të squfurit. Biolkmi përfshin reagime abiotike dhe biotike, shpesh me kërkesa të ndryshme. Aktualisht biolimi përdoret kryesisht për rikuperimin e bakrit, uraniumit dhe arit. Biologjitë mikrobiologjike përfshijnë
T. ferrooxidans, T. thiooxidans dhe L. ferrooxidans.
